The mere thought of selecting and implementing a new ERP system can send shivers down the spines of even the most stalwart professionals. It's an endeavor that, if not embraced by leadership and team members, can be as uncomfortable as having your wisdom teeth pulled. ERP projects often entail disruption and consume significant time and resources, impacting everyone from the C-suite to the warehouse, production, and shipping departments.
However, it doesn't have to be an ordeal devoid of joy.
In fact, it's not only possible but advisable to inject some fun into the process. Allowing your teams to enjoy themselves along the way can foster a sense of ownership, reinforce the project's vision and goals, and maintain enthusiasm, especially during the inevitable lulls.
As ERP projects naturally ebb and flow, it falls upon the Change Management team to proactively plan engaging activities from project initiation through post go-live. Here are 14 ways organizations can make their ERP implementations less grim:

At the outset of an ERP implementation, leadership and the project team can kick off the journey with a project naming contest. The objective is to create a project name that encapsulates the essence of the project while aligning with the corporate culture.
